Liquid Silastic silicone and catalyst applications
Liquid Silastic silicone and catalyst will reproduce the finest detail and are suitable for a variety of industrial and art related applications including making molds for reproducing prototypes, furniture, sculpture and architectural elements.
Liquid Silastic silicone and catalyst can also be used to cast a variety of materials including wax, gypsum, low melt alloys/metals and urethane, epoxy or polyester resins (without using a release agent)
Operation Instruction of Liquid Silastic silicone and catalyst
1) Correct mixing ratio
Component A is Liquid Silastic silicone, and component B is curing agent or vulcanizing agent, usually the mixing ratio will be 2 to 3%. Such as to 100G Liquid Silastic silicone should be added 2G catalyst and then mix them totally
Note: the weight of the Liquid Silastic silicone and catalyst should be weighted correctly.
A. According to local weather, the mixing ratio of the Liquid Silastic silicone and catalyst can be 100:2 under room-temperature 25 centi-degree;
B. if the local weather is about 10 centi degree, then the maximum mixing ratio of the Liquid Silastic silicone and catalyst should be 5%;
C. when local temperature is 5 centi degree, no reaction will happen between the Liquid Silastic silicone and catalyst
D. once the temperature of local weather is 38 to 45 centi degre, the mixing ratio of of the Liquid Silastic silicone and catalyst should be 1 %.
2) Preparation of the Original molds
Firstly, you should deal carefully with the Original mold or the products you want to be molded. If no polishing of the Original mold or the products you want to be molded, the surface of the original mold or products is not so smooth or perfect, then the products made out of silicone molds will be not up to standard.
3) Vacuum-Pumping Process
To mix the Liquid Silastic silicone and catalyst with a standard mixing ratio and then do the process of Vacuum-Pumping.
Bubbles will come out during the mixing of the Liquid Silastic silicone and catalyst, if without Vacuum Pumping, the bubbles cannot be released from the mixture, as a result, there will be many bubbles in the finished silicone mold. Then the mold has a less tensile strength which will affect the reproduction times. Such an unsmoothed silicone mold will affect the quality of the production directly.
